Design Notes

DGTT1 genes is from Chlamydomonas reinhardii, this gene focuses on the syntesis of fatty acids; the over expresion of this genes in Scenedesmus obliqus has been reported to increase lipidic production.Both of this algae are closely related to C.vulgaris so the same result is to be expected. This biobrick is made of vector pCAMBIA 1301 using the strong promoter 35S , pcambia has the nco1, Pst1 , Eag1 and Eco1 restriction sites, we use the Eco & Pst since they also work for Klorafenicol. This biobrick is designed to work on C.vulgaris but it could be expected to work on the following organisms: C.reinhardii and S.obliqus, as well as thoose phylogenetically related. It was transformed using electroporation.
